The Jola di Montese Museum System was established in 2003 with the addition of the Memorie d'Italia 1939-1945 (Memories of Italy 1939-1945) collections to the existing Civiltà Contadina (Peasant Civilization) collections. The latter had been in place since 1992. The museum covers approximately 600 square meters and displays around 4,000 objects. In 2010, the museum received recognition as a Museum of Quality from the Institute of Artistic, Cultural, and Natural Heritage of the Emilia-Romagna Region and from the US 10th Mountain Division Descendants Inc. In 2008, the project expanded to include the Sentieri della Linea Goica (Gothic Line Trails) which retrace the 1944/1945 battlefields, the remains of which are still visible today.
